AP for 8.3 miles =  7:35.  Not sure where that came from on a BUM foot!!  you know I really think once I get all these balances back in my body it will go away because I am STIFF as a board.  All my muscles feel tight--esp lower back and hamstrings.  The darn PF isn't helping either.  My DHEA level came back VERY LOW again as well.  Last year when I felt worse in Sept. it was 40.  When I started to feel better and after taking the med for one week (it made me feel weird) and then rechecked in a month it went to 74.  Normal values being 75-400.  Sunday my value was 61!!! This is the master hormone to every other hormone-- mainly adrenaline, thyroid, etc.....HENCE MY muscle aches and fatigue and stiffness and heartrate issues.  As April put it I am a mess!!   But a HOPEFUL MESS nonetheless!! : D.  Still waiting on my vitamin levels (D and B).  Last year D was VERY low (21), normal is above 40.  B looked good to me in the 300s and my Dr felt it should be higher.  Not sure I believe that necessity.  It was normal for crying out loud.  Let's leave well enough alone.  Actually these values are affected by low iron so there you go.  One thing leads to another.  I felt pretty good starting out today in the cool AUTUMN AIR and seeing all the fall leaves on the ground from the wind storm last night.  IF my foot wasn't ailing I would really have enjoyed this even more.  BUT I really was quite tight everywhere as well.  LIKE A MUMMY TRYING TO RUN or something.  WELL the best part is a I finished off with two sets of front, side, side planks - 60sec, 30, 30.  Then going forth with the push up challenge and did the third days of push ups for column two and guess what?  I FEEL STRONGER AND THEY FELT EASIER.  AMAZING I TELL YA!!  I did   8, 10, 7, 7, 10 (120 seconds in between of rest/stretching).   Push ups are quite mental for me.  I had to count to four, then count to four again and then count to two to do the last 10.  Somehow that made it easier in my mind to tell my body to do it.  Strange huh?  Lastly, I did two sets of twelve each of lateral raises (two types), biceps (two types), over head shoulders, lay down chest, triceps (two types), and rows.  Felt strong today despite my tightness.  All will be well soon.  : D.   ****GOOD NEWS!!!  This just in--My ferritin level has increased GREATLY from taking ORAL LIQUID IRON CALLED FLORADIX FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS!!!  AMAZING STUFF I TELL YOU!! GERMAN-MADE IN A DARK GLASS BOTTLE--- EXPENSIVE, but has several added herbs and vitamin Bs to aide absorption!!  SO STUPID THAT I SO RANDOMLY TOOK IT.  Just finally completed the bottle I got at the beginning of May that should only last two months at the most on Saturday!!!  And I had a dose for  just about every day since the marathon.  NOT good.    Off to purchase a new bottle since it is working!!  : D.  No IV Transfusions for me!!!  So glad.  It was pricey!!!  ALSO MY VITAMIN B level has increased.  No wonder I had energy today.  NOW to get my DHEA up.  Still waiting on Vitamin D results.

Nice workout despite not feeling great. You are a trooper and I hope you get everything figure out soon. I am thinking about you.

GREAT news Julie! Luz has for years recommended that iron to me. I need to just go buy it. I really feel low iron is a struggle for me too...especially once a month :) I'm glad you are finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel and feeling good again.

Julie:

If you have an easy way of frequently testing iron without breaking the bank...

I wonder what would happen to your iron if you ate a bowl of uncooked rolled oats with some milk (soy milk if averse to lactate) and fruit for breakfast along with a glass of orange juice. I've been eating uncooked oats every morning since 1994, and I've seen good results in terms of performance with a couple of other runners. Math says this should give you a huge dose of iron but it would be nice to see some measurements.

I will try it first before opening my new bottle of Floradix Sasha. BUT really, dried not cooked? I am trying to get passed that. I have been craving orange juice and cream of wheat like crazy. I know cream of wheat is iron fortified.

You will be surprised how good uncooked oats taste when moistened with milk and flavored with fruit, fresh or dry - e.g strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, raisins, dates, etc. Give it a try.

Okay I will. I have a lot of dried apples that we just made. Another question for you....what do you think about DHEA levels? From what I read it is the master hormone for all others and is less and less with age. My level was 61, drawn yesterday, and normal values are 75-400. My thyroid stimulating hormone is also below normal. I am guessing from low DHEA.

I'm glad that things are looking up. It sounds like getting the iron fixed will fix a lot of other things as well. Nice run, btw!

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Oct 17, 2011 at 20:12:49 from 192.168.1.1

Do not know much about DHEA as far as fixing it is concerned except sleep and relaxation. I do not find it surprising that you have a problem with it - stressful job in addition to the responsibilities of a mother is not good for the hormones. It may appear that there is no way out of it economically, but there might be a way if you approach the issue prayerfully and with a lot of faith.

Sasha is actually making me hungry, that sounds very good. Can you warm it up at all??

Julie, I am sorry that your body is out of whack, BUT it sounds like it is slowly coming back in to whack. ;o) As far as the PF, I feel for you. i do not know how you are going to get it to mellow out with all of your standing and running around. You really need some rest. A vacation on the beach would be perfect...just laying there reading a good book. Should we go to Hawaii????

Congrats on the push up challenge. I have started that thing 2 times, but I never finish!!! I am such a wimp. Great job on adding the weights in there, I think you will see the improvement that you want faster than you think!

HUGS to you!!!!
