Foot a huge problem.  Drove up with Rachelle.  Warmed up four miles-- last mile felt like I was jogging and was a 7:25.  Wore my trail shoes to slow me down as a pacer for the half marathon at 2 hours.  I couldn't do that pace with my pain.  I decided to be the in between pacer at 1:57.  I even acted as the "transport" pacer for a few runners-- taking them from the 2:00 pace to the 1:55 pacer.  When I got there I then "transported" a first timer from the 1:55 pacer to almost the 1:50 pacer (1:51:31).  I let her go at 100 feet before the finish.  I went back and pick up the 1:57 runners and got them all in under 1:57.  I really need to be the pacer for 1:35 to 1:40.  Sorry Walter.  Don't fire me.    Foot hurt a lot the whole run.  I tried to focus on the people I was pacing.  Boston will not be very fun with this pain but at least I know I can run it.  I think that I will be dropping back to Rachelle's wave (wave 2) and run her in at 3:20 to 3:23 like she wants : D.     If she is with me I can't think of my pain.   Ran 1 mile cooldown after race which foot was really not happy about.  Got home, watched my daughter's soccer game then watched afternoon conference.  So glad I got to listen to Elder Holland's talk :D.

I loved Elder Holland's talk too. Sorry about the pain Julie, but I'm glad you were able to make things work today - I'm sure those people really appreciated all you did for them.

I seriously am in awe of your pain tolerance. It is off the charts. As always, I loved seeing you and chatting for a bit. :)

i'm sorry you are in pain, julie. not fun at all. your pain threshold is really unbelievable though! you are a trooper for still going out there and pacing today. i really hope it calms down soon -- hoping for pain free days ahead!

I'm glad you'll be able to run Boston, but I'm sorry about the pain. It stinks.

If you end up running w/ Rachelle - you can "transport" her up to 3:15 b/c I think she's going to blow 3:20 away.

So cool! It sounds like you were a great pacer to help people push themselves. How do you become a pacer?

Tara--- I found out about pacing thru Rachelle and then I happened to be on facebook when one of the pacers couldn't pace due to the flu and Walter was looking for a replacement. Walter made some comment that Michael Jordan still played in the play offs with a fever to the pacer but he still was like no way. And I was like "yes way" I will run and show this PF who is boss. Although PF seems to be winning the battle currently. How in the heck can I restrain myself??? Lock and key to a boot on my leg is the only way to stop me. Remember my comment about my ankle falling off? well...my foot was the only limb listening to that comment.

Julie I think you did a great job of helping people reach there goals and I'm sure they really appreciated it. It was fun to spend some time with you on Saturday and I hope your dang foot is feeling better today.

I totally agree with Teena - you are seriously one tough cookie to run through that pain!
