Easy day run turned more difficult because I just had to turn up the incline for some hill work.  This was out of no where and with my EXTRA FIVE POUNDAGE, I was feeling so very LARD-LIKE, especially in my legs.  This is my impromptu run:

1%   1 mile  8:27

1%   1 mile 8:06

1%   1 mile 7:53

4%  1 mile  7:53

2%  1 mile  7:47

4%  1 mile  7:47.  Reset TM.  Water refilled.  Stretched after brief potty break.

2%  1 mile 7:41

4%  1 mile 7:41

1%  1 mile 7:35

4%  1 mile 7:35

1%  1/2 mile 7:53 AP  1/2 mile  7:30- 7:41

1%  1/4 mile 7:30   1/4 mile 7:24   1/4 mile 7:19  1/4 6:27 to 7:03. Roughly.  Just kept upping the pace the last 1.5 miles.   12 miles in 1:33:07.  AP= 7:45. This was not easy.   As I was writing some of these entries I still felt like I was either on a cruise or a  coaster.  My head feels like it is bobbing.  Not to mention a 10 hour drive yesterday with one stop in St. George.  Time for another vacation  ;  D.

Just read all your entries from cruise week- only you would follow up the day where you ran 100 laps around the track with... 132 laps!! I love it! Way to stay at it on vacation week - probably not easy to do on a cruise.

From Kelli on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 18:32:54 from 71.219.85.126

I would say NOT easy, nice job!!!

From JulieC on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 19:45:10 from 67.41.188.138

after I ran my laps without a watch Jake I told my husband I should have worn my garmin. He then reminded me how off the wall my paces (not to mention what the satellite images would look like on a map) would be as we were at sea moving north. Pretty much plenty of circles on the grid with none of them overlapping : D. The first day on the track was interesting (not difficult) as with each wave/movement of the ship it felt like gravity pulling me down as I lifted my legs so I guess I got a little hillwork too. It was windy and I would be pushed over to the edge of one side of the track and then back to the other. Rather intersting but VERY COOL to be out from land in the middle of the ocean running. I actually thought of lobbying for the First Annual Carnival Cruise Marathon where only runners are allowed on the ship. It would be just a three day cruise. First check, get your numbers, carb load, sleep. Then meet at the track (a longer one-- some ships have them--) and start the marathon in waves. Then lots of food and fun afterwards just hanging out at sea : D.

Oh wow I need to go read your cruise entries! Great treadmill workout--that incline work pays off bigtime.

From Andrea on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 21:13:53 from 67.177.21.60

JulieC - you crack me up! I'm jealous that you got to go on a cruise, although I don't think I'm jealous of the 100+ laps around the ship.

From JulieC on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 22:38:29 from 67.41.188.138

trust me Andrea, with the way I was eating it had to be done!!! I am lard legs currently. Much like the description April gave us a few weeks ago about being bloated. ; D.

From JulieC on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 22:47:09 from 67.41.188.138

Totally off the subject...so my sister pointed out bad news for me...Julie Thomas turns 40 this year so no more master's title for me!! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!! But this is of course GREAT news for her!! As she won SGM a couple years ago and now she's 40 or almost there, so she will do very well!! My over 40 heroines are still Anna Judd and Mischelle Allred!! :D. Amazing runners!!

From Rachelle on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 14:07:29 from 199.190.170.28

Great run Julie! Are you still feeling dizzy from bein gon the cruise ship? I have no idea how you ran so much on the cruise ship.....I would have totally fallen off the edge or something with all of the motion. It is a very good thing you don't get motion sickness. :)

Are you working sat? If not I think I am going to meet up with Walter and run the Riverton course. I'll prob add a few miles on as well. Let me know if you want to join.

From JulieC on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 17:49:55 from 67.41.188.138

I may just join you Rachelle. The course is a bugger :D. But maybe it was just that I worked the Thursday night before the race and ran it on empty two years ago...

From Chad Robinson on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 17:53:16 from 50.73.39.89

Rachelle and Julie - A bunch of us (Jake, Fritz, Scott Keate ect) will be doing the Riverton Half followed up with the Riverton 10k at 7:30 Saturday morning.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 17:59:47 from 71.219.85.126

Why so early??? Can't you guys just sleep in one weekend for me? JUST ONE?????

Love that course, maybe I will drag my fanny out of bed for it. But the corridor has been calling my name.....

From Chad Robinson on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:02:05 from 50.73.39.89

If Scott Keate had his way it would be at 5am!!! Consider yourself lucky.

From Jake K on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:02:23 from 155.100.226.54

Let it be known that I voted for a later start! :-)

From Jake K on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:03:09 from 155.100.226.54

Chad is right - Scott wanted to start around 2:30am so he could have his kids ready for skiing by 5am :-)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:11:55 from 71.219.85.126

Psycho runners! Thanks for trying Jake. Hmmm, it is in my neck of the woods on a course I have memorized so I would not get lost in the back. ;o)

From JulieC on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:13:45 from 67.41.188.138

okay Rachelle (no I am not dizzy anymore, just fending off the start of a cold...not gonna happen) so now we have a team of speedies coming along again :D. What pace are we shooting for here? I should like to run the last four sub7 : D. The rest is easy I hope ;D.

From JulieC on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:14:13 from 67.41.188.138

Ahhhhh 7:30am start time is heavenly.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:19:22 from 71.219.85.126

OH, good hell. I am staying home. You guys are too fast.

From JulieC on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:44:35 from 67.41.188.138

Kelli the other 14 miles I want easy. Come with us. Please.

From JulieC on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:45:05 from 67.41.188.138

btw Kelli once ran a marathon that started at 3:20am!!

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 18:47:03 from 71.219.85.126

But it was in July and it was not cold! I actually have no fear of early mornings, I have just become a complete and utter wimp this winter. If I wait, it gets warmer.

That was the BEST marathon ever. Totally loved it and the good company.

From Rachelle on Wed, Feb 01, 2012 at 10:45:45 from 199.190.170.28

Kelli - I am coming saturday and will not be running fast so you can guide me along the course. I am pacing 1:50 at Riverton so planning to run about that pace sat with maybe the last 3-4 miles at MP if I am feeling up to it.

From Kelli on Wed, Feb 01, 2012 at 14:56:27 from 66.29.181.130

Tempting! Now I need to check the weather and see if I want to get up that early. I will think on it.

From JulieC on Wed, Feb 01, 2012 at 16:00:49 from 71.35.251.200

i am running slow too as i caught this dang cold in my sinuses only. weird, no sore throat.
