2 mile warmup 1% incline.  Easy.  8:49-8:27.  Then stretch and water.   Then 0.1 miles easy before 8 x 1000meters at 10k pace (6:31x 6, 6:27 x1, 6:22 x1)- most likely I would be  slower in a 10k but that is so much slower than I used to run 1000 meters HOWEVER this workout calls for ONLY 30 seconds in between sets of jogging---6mph, 10 pace.  First four done in 19:35 including warmup for 0.1 miles (2.86 miles). Got off mill and potty and water (two and 1/2 minute break, necessary for the SOUL).  Next four in 19:35 (2.88miles).  Warmup for 0.1 miles was slower.  I got distracted for a moment because after two I needed more water and when I got back to the mill a guy took my mill under the fan.  Not that the fan was felt much.  I was dripping sweat.  1.26 mile cooldown. Nice and easy. Avg probably 8:40.  Jane was running 2 x 20 minutes with 15 min jog in between. We ended pretty close to each other so that was cool.

2 mile warmup similar to Monday.  Just more increases in second mile to 8:12 pace.  same 1% incline.  Then stretch and water.  Plan 3-2-3  lactate threshold run at half marathon pace (6:48-6:53? on a utah course with actual rest and no sleep medications four hours before the race or intense speed work three days before and a 13 hour out of control busy shift the day before).  Ran first three at 6:53.   Four minute break..talking away with a friend and lost track of time (supposed to be 3 min rest).  Just stood there.  No running.  Then 6:53, 6:49.  First set I talked the entire time.  Then my friend left so I put on my music and ran the two.  It was nice to know I was only doing two in the middle.  Five minute rest.  When I got water my mill was almost taken but instead the lady went right beside me which was nice of her but  sadly she had on wayyyyy too  much hair spray so I had to  go a row back to avoid a headache.  So this took extra time with a potty break in there.  Last three miles-- 6:53, 6:48, 6:48.    1/2 mile cooldown. nice and easy. Fan by treadmills not working and it is super humid out so  I was quite the sweaty mess.  Soaked every area of my clothes.  Is this normal????  or am I just out of shape???  I am 9 pounds heavier then 2011!!!!!!! HELLLLLLL-o!!!! trying to lose weight....hope five comes off before October 3!!

sweltering run at 2pm. Major fatigue all morning so nothing.    91 degrees.  8:25 pace. My sweat madee itch so intensely.  Think I was allergic to lotion I put on.  I still feel itchy after shower but not as bad.

so very fatigued. met up with kim.  her knee killed at one mile so she bailed and ran back home.  bummer.  on my own.  plan for us was to run the murdock half in reverse then turn around at mile 9 for us (we live 1.6 miles from the park it finishes at).  i honestly had and have since i got braces to close my jaw in alignment (teeth are actually straight, good enough) but my jaw won't shut and i have been wearing a TMJ splint for three months.  So.... its this or surgery. and braces won out as it really is an alignment issue.  long story.  anyway it has been three weeks since i got them and i feel major fatigue. hoping i am not allergic to them (i have a copper allergy) but I am going to tough it out and sacrifice running for my jaw. seriously my jaw was in oodles of pain from feb to june when I got splint.  lock jaw with every bite of food.  i couldn't take it.  got a great dr who is helping me tons!! i have had tmj since my early 20s.  just recently completely locking up.  avg pace unknown.  my watched died at mile 7. ran to mile marker 5 of race and turned and ran with 1:45 pacer which just felt hard to me.  seriously i felt so weak.  so i stopped at water stop stood and waited for holly and stephanie.  they kept going.  i started running 30 seconds after they passed.  just jogged for a bit and caught them two miles later.  ran a mile with the winner who ran 44 seconds faster than i did last year--1:33:02 (merri hackett :D).  considering i m 13 years her senior and she is a great runner I feel pretty good about my time last year.  this course is honest !!  EVERY ONE IN UTAH SHOULD RUN IT TO REALLY SEE HOW FIT THEY ARE !  Too many downhill halfs here in good ol' Utah. Love them too but ONCE IN A WHILE go for the difficult!!
