TM shortage.  One out of order, two taken out of the gym.  Only 6 TMs now.  Waited then hit the track for two laps while Troy waited to save me a mill (my hero!!).  He was going only 4 miles so he didn't mind standing and waiting.  Got in .3 miles on the track then ran slowly on the mill for an 8:57 opener mile.  1% incline for all miles.  I was wearing my Altras (zero drop) and they are so slipper-like that I am trying to get my body used to them.  They are so very light that I feel like I have nothing on my feet.  After the first mile I felt pretty comfortable and sped up every 1/4 mile or so eventually hitting a 6:44 last mile.  AP for 8 miles =  7:46.  Pretty excited, got some new shoes coming in next week!!  They felt awesome on my feet.  Close to zero drop (4mm).  Standard drop is 10-12 mm drop.  They are stylin'!!   Goal for Boston marathon--- PR in the marathon, so anything under a 3:08.  Of course I would love a subthree but time will tell there.  If stars align and the FOCUS is there I will go for it!!  In the coming weeks I will declare more affirmatively which way I am heading but for now it is the PR.   BTW I am seriously wondering why I am NOT running outdoors-- hello it is 57 degrees currently!!  I might just have to go out again for four more.  : D    Planks before bed:  1 minute/30 sec/ 30secs (front, side, side) repeated x 2.  I used to be so good at planks.  Not so much anymore.

Nice workout Julie!! You will do great at Boston and I am so excited for you.

What are your plans this Saturday? I would love to get together for a "slow" LR. I am getting so lonely running all by myself. :( Poor Rachelle...don't you feel bad?

let's run together. where would you like to meet? We could run in South Provo-- halfway point for both of us I think. Or I could come that way. I am running 16 miles-- SLOW for the first 12 then four under 7 mm.

I just had an idea...how about meeting at the Provo Tabernacle (the one that burned down across from Los Hermanos) and run the last half of the Provo Marathon (last May). NICE and FLAT. Then add on 3 miles down University 1.5 miles and back--- UTAH VALLEY Marathon reVISITED!! AGAIN...FLAT. : D.

I am totally up for this Julie!! I am definitely in no shape to run the last 4 at sub-7 but I could try to chase you. :)

Let me know what time you want to meet.

how about 9am? I know that sound WAYYYYY late for me but I just remembered my daughter's soccer game (and I rarely can go since I work a lot of Saturdays). It is at 7:40am. It will be over by 8:40am and is in Orem. A 10 minute drive to Center St. and Provo. Other wise it would have to be way early and that would not be fun-- dark, cold.... been there done that. Yikes I don't even know the weather for this weekend.

9am is perfect for me!! That way I can sleep in. Woo hoo!

Soccer at 7:40am? That is a crazy early start. I love soccer.
