Stayed up til midnight first watch HOP with the littler kids  then Ghost Protocol with Courtney, Troy and my mother.  Slept  IN until 8:40am.  A first in probably over a year or so.  So I put on my mizunos and walked around the house almost pain free (some arch pain slight pull on my heel, but not where it has been hurting for like 7.5 weeks).  So what do I do when NO one else is aware of what I am doing or checking in on me?? a measly mile I tell myself.  After talking for a bit with McKenzie who has had the VERY same problem with the VERY same foot and all the same symptoms of it switching around the entire foot and numbness etc... she suggested ASTYM which practically cured her.  I did some self astym (not near as  hard as I need to( yesterday) and with the continued time off and cross training other muscles to pull their weight I ran 8 miles today with minimal pain.  BUT MOSTLY with fear--- no pace increase because any "jarring" of the heel and plantar will set off the penalty to my foot.  Just easy pace.  First mile 9:02.  Last mile 8:11.  AP 8:30 for 8 miles.  Then of course I felt so good I pruned to bushes in front of my house.   Now drinking a Green Smoothie-- blueberries, banana, apple, lettuce, carrots and cucumber.  : D.     Will ice later after my daughters soccer game.  ASTYM coming up.   I am NOT going to run everyday.  Biking and stairstepper Monday.

You meant no running for 4 days when you said 4 weeks off, right? :-)

I'm sure it felt good to actually be running... just be smart and you'll be on the upswing. You need a few miles running for mental sanity - I know I would!

You got it Jake, right on--4 weeks is like dog years to a runner = 4 days. This foot problem is trying to PURGE itself. It has made full circle and is trying really hard to remember how to run :D. But I will be taking it easy. No running for four more days (I mean weeks ; D). so good to be on my feet again watching the world pass by in "slow motion".

YAY!!! Now you stick to the plan Julie. Every other day, with easy running for at least 2-3 weeks. I am no Doctor but these are my orders okay!!
