10 easy/recovery pace miles @ 8:33 AP (wore trail shoes again, three times this week : D) running to the finish of the AF half and up to the mile 10 mark (at the West Pond road dip) then turning around and heading home.  Yup gotta include the dip for added strength training.  I ate a little before I left because I was hungry after yesterday's workout.  It seemed to help until mile 7 I was getting really hungry/thirsty again.  I ran at 7:32am ran four and then ran into my ol' ragnar buddy Amber Sandberg.  We talked in the humid heat and caught up a bit on each other.  Then we went our separate ways.  She is running the half tomorrow. I am running the first half with none other than the FAMOUS Kelli Stephensen : D!!   We should have a blast.  It will be a coolish evening running at 320am thirteen miles considerably UPHILL the whole time.  I need 15 miles tomorrow and I work at 6am so this works out perfectly except for the fact I have to leave my car up the canyon.  Not at the start line but at mile 15 when we turn around and run two more down before the half starts.  We should be well ahead of them.  : D.  I think they start at 6am now. Correction the 1/2 marathon starts at 5:40 am.

You are AMAZING!!! I'm so excited that you are running Kelli up the Sogonapmit tomorrow morning (or late tonight however you wanna say it)!!! Be sure to give me a hug when you blow pass me by the blue silos. Or if you pass me on the parkway, please do not sneak up and scare me ok? :)

How coolish is it gonna be? Shall we wear long sleeve and then ditch it at the top?

From JulieC on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 13:11:03 from 67.41.191.80

I don't think you will need to wear long sleeves after the first six miles of warming up out of the canyon. It should be pleasant. Are you leaving early?

From JulieC on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 13:14:00 from 67.41.191.80

rephrase-- short sleeves for the entire run.

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 13:19:59 from 67.2.122.145

OK, short sleeves it is! Wonder if there will be a headwind coming down the canhon as we head up! Yes I am taking the early start so I can make it to the top before the Halfers start, probably barely!

You are freaking amazing! Seriously you inspire me! Running 15 miles before work at 6am? And all uphill to boot. Wait to go Julie!

I am running the half tomorrow and it is scheduled to start at 5:40am!

From seeaprilrun on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 15:07:26 from 174.70.177.86

That is one super early run...wow! All that uphill will definitely be a strengthening workout!

From JulieC on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 16:49:58 from 67.41.191.80

inspiring? maybe just a little crazy.

From JulieC on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 19:23:53 from 67.41.191.80

not sure about the canyon wind Smooth. It is always like a surprise package. You never really know until you are there.

See you in the morning. Kelli and I are going to see you off ; D.

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 30, 2011 at 21:58:23 from 71.219.99.3

Famous, huh??? I wonder exactly where I am famous? Maybe Kneaders or Frogurt???

THANKS AGAIN for running with me. Not many people, if any, would get up at 2 am to come and run a race that they do not get to finish! You are the best.

I am laughing at the comments about the weather! It was in the 70's when we started at 3:20!!! WARM.
