Warm up run to Kim's (2.4).   On the way I did some "strides" of increasing my pace eventually to a 5:38 pace for a split second.  I would start at a 9:30 pace and then start running controlled until I gradually hit a sub six pace.  I first actually only got just below a 7 pace and then I decided to get speedier for a few. Then I reluctantly got on Kim's TM for 3 by 2000 meters (1.25 miles) at 6:25 goal pace with 400 meter recovery run.   Incline 1 %.  The first one was avg pace of 6:22.  The second one I would increase each lap by .1 starting at 9 mph (so a 6:40 to a 6:14 finish).  AP there probably 6:27.  Last one I started faster and ended quicker to get AP at 6:25.  Ran cooldown mile home.  Felt very good cardio-wise and completely BAD nerve-wise.  My legs and back have been sending very painful messages to my brain-- burning nerve pain and throbbing as well as numbness patches in my legs and feet, and pins and needle feelings.  My legs don't want to lift high and my hips feel like they are cinderbolted to my pelvis and my pelvis feels like it will break soon.  Lucky for me  I have a Bone Scan tomorrow and a Dr's appt next Wednesday.  I don't feel like this is normal at all.  Totally too much pain.  Even when I lay in my bed, my nerves are a flamin'.  Achy all over.  I just finished three day shifts in a row.  I got home last night wiped out and went right to bed without collecting my 200 dollars.  Good thing Troy is awesome at taking care of the kids.  I was worthless as a mother.  The pain was intense.  So what do I do today?  I get my running clothes on determined to get through whatever is ailing me.  Crazy huh?

The pain feels like chicken pox on the nerves!!  That is what I just came up with.  It is all over my body but mostly my back, hips, thighs, calves and FEET (the most).  Nerve pain intense.  AP for 5 miles = 8:17.  My feet felt like there was popcorn popping on them.  My heartrate felt slow.  HR at end of run 98!!!  Apparently this pain thing is the pace killer.

455am run.  5.22 miles at 8:22AP in the wee hours of the morning, beautiful starry sky, no music so as to hear any impending "dangers".  One car went by me.  Did a loop four times around my home.  A nice loop.  Woke early and had energy for a run and could not sleep.  Worked my butt off all day on Mom/Baby at AFH.  We work hard and it is NON-stop action all day SERIOUSLY.  I clocked out two hours after shift end.  The new person getting dumped on.  I didn't eat lunch.  I didn't get tired until 7pm.  I was GO GO GO all day long.  Couldn't even ask my neighbor (coworker) how they were doing.  Okay I might have said hi to a few of them.  7 moms 7 babies is a LOT of work.  I am off to bed.

nil. zip.  spirit willing body not.  not sure what the heck is going on.  BACK PAIN 8.5!!  feet burning/numb.  patchy numbness in legs.  usually this doesn't stop me but with an impending 23 miler on my Squaw Peak course this Saturday I am needing to take it way down.  Seriously would have been not good to run today.  Pain was so intense I could only lay down at times on my stomach and still it pulsated.  My bone scan scores for my hips were low end of normal, so good enough but my spine was at Medium Risk for fractures due to loss of bone density.  Doesn't tell me if I actually have a break which I guess could be the case.  The pain is taking me by complete surprise.  What happened to my pain free running days?  I will take sleep-deprived running over this aggravating pain.  Got an adjustment today.  My hips were way out.  I went thru a major moment of INTENSE fatigue that I just had to lay anywhere.  So I just stopped on my living room floor and laid there.  Last night I did the opposite of a night shift after working 14 hour day shift without stopping --- fell asleep at 930pm slept til 1230am then was WIDE awake until 230am.  Difficult to fall back to sleep.  Eventually did until 630am.  Daughter getting up so couldn't run but then my feet were so tingly and my back throbbing that I fought the thought.  Could I actually take a rest day?  I am still tempted.  But I will be strong.  NO RUNNING TODAY.  not sure I can agree to that for tomorrow however.

6.15 miles way easy and STILL my hip, after adjustment, was yelling at me.  Tried new shoes yesterday.  None in my size but none that jumped out at me.  Took off my shoes for a short jaunt barefoot.  Ahhhh!!!  So love the freedom and using my own body and not fighting against all the wrong shoes!!  AP 8:48 after first mile of 10:23.  My husband ran one mile with me. It was uphill and he said as we started out "I thought the chiropracter said not to run?"   I replied "I am not running, I am trotting".  Sure was like why am I running pace.  It seemed to make my hip talk more.

20 VERY PAINFUL Miles.  Back is really bad off.  The pain then went up my spine and to my shoulders and worse than any run I can imagine (except the last two miles of the Boston Marathon in  1996).  The nerve pain won't let up.  Talked with my Bishop who is a  Dr. about an epidural steroid order.  He said I need a current MRI first.  So with my appt I have this Wednesday I will get one (different Dr.).  Melanie left me in the dust.  I didn't see her past mile 6.  I had to stop when I reached the road at mile 20.  And even stopping hurt like the dickens.  Its like my nerves have some kind of disease.  They are all on fire in my spine to my feet.  This is VERY disappointing.  I may have to give up my SGM number to my friend that did not get in.  I just can't run SGM in this much pain.  Hopefully answers are on the horizon this week with lab tests and an MRI.   My pace down was almost as slow as my pace up.  This run has a 3000 foot gain/loss.  I loved this run the first year I ran it, but then it was aided by the running club.  I was so parched with only a 16 ounce fanny pack water and two gus.  Melanie drove back up to get me from the Golf Course at Hobble Creek.  I could barely walk straight.  It is hard to even type this.  PAIN SCORE 9!!!  AP 9:52.
