Barefoot on the grass running for 4:20 (1/2 mile, a guess) in the afternoon before my daughter's soccer game.  This is the advice  I got for healing my PF.  Had planned a 5 miler but was called into work when  I thought I would have it off for sure.  Some confusion at work and I was the one on call.  I asked for it off for the funeral.  Luckily my coworkers were helpful and one came in for me.  I worked from 630 to 1030 and then attendended the funeral for Lee Ann.  Another tear fest.  It is just hard to not hear her voice.  It was distinctive.  Everyone has been blessed by her service in our ward.  I am still in shock that she is gone.   The emotions have made me exhausted and the four hours of non-stop work didn't help.  I will not run today.  Last time I ran exhausted injury was upon me.  Foot was hurting at work but now it is gone.   Emotions got out the pain.

5 miles at 5am before work-- easy pace 8:05 (last mile 7:35).  Left leg and foot a real bugger thru the run and at work-- something is wrong with the nerves and vessels (blood supply).  I noticed a couple months ago that my feet turn dark puple if I sit forward while typing on the computer.  Also several knew large veins have developed on my left ankle.  I am wondering if this is contributing to my foot pain-- less blood flow to fascia-- chronic PF.  My entire foot is having numbness, burning and shooting pain up the toes.  It even extends up my lower leg.  I have a dull ache in my left back (sciatica???).  It is pretty painful.    If I elevate my foot for a time the pain is much improved when I start walking again.

not sure why but foot and leg just not happy.  ran up 1100 north and back down. 8:27 AP.  very steep hill.  entire foot has nerve like pains --- shooting this way and that and up my leg to my calf.  probably will have to stop running again.  need some physical therapy.

hopeful side note: pray for Madeleine McCann to be found alive.  yes what's done is done.  Pray for her parents to find an end to this sorrow-- alive or passed on.  So many families affected by such crimes of others.  It is heartbreaking to listen and read about.  It has been five years.  She would be 9 years old.

Plan was to ride my bike to rec center and work out on stairmaster.  Well....I rode my bike with my kids to their elementary school (1 mile) then took off to the rec center almost three miles from their school  (AP 4:32).  Using my own moutain bike with the fixed tire.  Yay.  The gears work.  So biking was very nice.  I need to get my daugther's bike looked at.  Well....it was such a beautiful morning the outdoor track at PGHS was calling my name for an easy half mile warm up....well 1/2 mile turned into 3.14 miles.  I guess my bike got my legs going even though I felt like I was moving slow (riding your bike before running does that to you).  I ran progressive miles without even trying and one I did when the high school boys gym class came out on the track.  I was ahead of all of them at my easy pace-- except a boy who sprinted past me then stopped.  He was wearing the clonkiest shoes eva!!!  ridiculous.   Anyway...my miles were 7:56, 7:20 and 7:11!!   with the last .14 at 7:02.  I wasn't even trying.  My foot got extremely tight and numb.  I don't get this.  It acts like my neuroma has doubled in size and is taking over the space between my metatarsal.  It is an odd feeling for sure and soon the tightness goes to my ankle then my calf.  As soon as I stopped and stretched the pain/tightness went away.  I went inside the rec center and ran 5 miles on the TM at 1 % easy-- 2 miles at 8:00 (slightly faster), 1 at 7:53, 1 at 7:41, 1 @ 7:20 or faster (sped up to 6:49 at the end).  Foot getting very tight again.  LIKE ONE BIG muscle cramp!!!  not sure how I got this font going on right now.   AP for last five miles  = 7:47.   These shorter mileage days with cross training make me feel stronger.  NOW if I can get this foot to feel like it used to !!!!     Rode my bike home and added on a bit for fun (it was so very Springlike today, freshly cut flowers and grass!!!)  4.65 miles @ 4:04 pace : D.   OH YAH!!    Good luck everyone that is racing tomorrow.   I work of course so I will be thinking of all of you!!!  btw I wrapped my foot in an ace bandage and wore my boot all day.  That seemed to help a lot.   I also wore the ace bandage around my foot and ankel all night as a splint to keep my foot flexed. That helped even more!!!

burning leg nerve pain yesterday at work all day--- sciatica???  on and off this morning.  then chiropractic appt.  ultrasound and stretch machine to back.  ultrasound to my house for home therapy.  one treatment so far.  could walk on it after that without pain so thought i would be stupid and try running on it.  held up pain free for first 3/4 mile then it just got tighter and tighter and my ankle, forefoot and plantar region just rebelled.  spasms and nerve pain.  weak ankle???  so very weird.  AP no garmin cause I didin't want to know pace until the end.  Just ran a loop around my house that was a bit over 40 minutes (42:22) and course tooled it to be right on with 5 miles so 8:28 pace.  what next??? acupuncture???  CAST so I don't ever run on it for an entire month or two???  if that were the case we would have to also get rid of the scissors in our house.  I am so impatient.  this has progressed into a greater issue-- not just PF.  I think I may need hypnosis to tell myself what it used to feel like when I walked or ran on my right foot.  I am soooo guarded it is ricocheting all over my left let up to my back.

FOOT BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!!  PLANTAR FASCITIS SUCKS!!!  And I don't even like to use that word.  So after falling off the wagon about a dozen times my resolve (like telling myself NOT to eat chocolate that is right in front of me) is to NOT run for 4-6 weeks BEGINS as of my return yesterday from a BLUNDER of a run.  My foot is even angrier with me than it was before Boston.  This is the most frustrating running disease I can conjure up for myself.  DO NOT CATCH IT!!

RULES:   NO RUNNING  UNTIL PAIN FREE FOR 4 WEEKS (THEN REEVAL IF 6 WEEKS NECESSARY BY THE WALK TEST-- NO PAIN FOR THREE DAYS OF WALKING)

WEAR BOOT WHEN NOT CYCLING OR SWIMMING

ICE FOOT THREE TIMES A DAY

IBUPROFEN THREE TIMES A DAY X 1 WEEK

ULTRASOUND TWICE A DAY

EPSOM SALT BATH TWO TIMES A DAY

NO RUNNING--- DON'T FORGET THAT EVER!!!!    I AM NO LONGER A RUNNER.  OKAY AS MELANIE PUT IT "YES YOU ARE A RUNNER--- JUST AN INJURED RUNNER".

REPORT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS VIA BLOG.

IF I THINK I CAN RUN-- ICE INSTEAD.   IF I AM DOWN AND DEPRESSED LIFT SOMEONE ELSE UP.

PRAY TO GOD FOR HELP TO HEAL MYSELF.

Bike ride with Troy to the rec center (3 miles).  Elliptical FUN-- 132 avg rpm, started at level 7-- 5 minutes, 8 -- 5 minutes, 9-- 5 minutes, 10-- 20 minutes, 9-- 5 minutes, 8-- 5 minutes.  5 minutes in reverse.  Lower calves feeling the 45 minutes forward.   50 minutes for 3.8 miles. Did both pushing and pulling arms and at times no arms (probably 10 minutes).    I did not do the stair climber as my foot is hurting with walking.  Bike ride home 3 miles.  Legs quite stiff after first time on elliptical that was longer than five minutes.  Proud I stuck it out.  Seriously have never gone longer than five minutes on that thing.  Now I have gone 50.  Shocker.

Back in boot for the day.  Will soak foot later.

Started Green Smoothie Diet (Green as in "going green", no additives).  Done with processed sugar and refined flour.  Got to happen  : D.

Feeling that I am having some sort of autoimmune response with the continuted plantar fascitis-- rotating to varying degrees of intensity on my foot and going up my leg at times. My right arm is also affected.  Unexplained swelling of my index finger for 10 days now and my tendons feel numbish up my arm.   I feel the diet will help me.

Need to pray.  Most important part....besides listening for the answer/s.

Decided AGAINST frequent ibuprofen.  Not good for stomach or kidneys.   Natural healing with food  and rest and soaks should do the trick.

7 miles to the rec ( I added on up the hills in PG).  AP 4:37 and that's with my first mile at Amber's pace to her elementary school.   40 minutes on the stair climber = 4.8 miles.  Started at level 8 for warmup x 5 minutes then stayed at level 10 and level 12 for the remainder of the time evenly. LARGE SWEAT DRIPS fell from my face and neck even though I didn't feel cardiovascularly winded.  Muscles working however in my legs.  Go legs.  No pushing off with my foot.  I guard it anyway but I am really trying to put NO pressure on it.    I did ultrasound it for 15 minutes before biking.    Finished with 40 mph wind gusts into my bike to my house-- 3 miles. AP  4:30.  Talk about a headwind and UPHILL!!  BAD combo.  The last mile was downhill but the wind was so intense I got no speed out of it!!

Made Whole wheat  (grinded myself) Applesauce Muffins.   2 Tablespoons of honey and 2 T of olive oil, homemade apple sauce and cinnamon.  YUM!!  Real butter on them.  Ate two before leaving to workout.

After workout-- made a green smoothie--  green leaf lettuce, brocolli, carrots, blueberries, peaches and a banana.  YUM.  Fills you up.

Also started taking Krill oil in gel tablet form.   Need all the help I can get with some good ol' omega 3 fatty acids!!!

7:42 am bike ride for 20.3 miles.  Yikes turn around I was telling myself "I need a long sleeve shirt on".  Bike rides are cold if the sun isn't up.  I just pushed through the urge to turn around and kept going in the chilly air.  Then  I forgot about it as I worked out longer.    I am so glad I appreciate my life more than music.  I ride my bike without music.  I never want to not hear a car or a person beside me biking.  Seriously biking takes concentration to NOT get killed.   I felt quite safe for the most part but honestly DRIVERS scare me.  I never take for granted that they see me so  I wave or slow at any intersection even if I have the right of way.   Rode my 20 mile run route that I took everyone on back in February.  Lots of hill work for me.  AP 4:10 for 20.3 miles.  Course record : D.   Back was aching for 5 of the miles-- spasms.  I didn't stop once except for three lights only briefly-- a minute total proabably.  The air was refreshing especially in Alpine. When I start running again I will wonder why the scenery passes by me so slow.  I am getting used to 4 minute mile pace!!   Foot back in boot after massaging it.

Stayed up til midnight first watch HOP with the littler kids  then Ghost Protocol with Courtney, Troy and my mother.  Slept  IN until 8:40am.  A first in probably over a year or so.  So I put on my mizunos and walked around the house almost pain free (some arch pain slight pull on my heel, but not where it has been hurting for like 7.5 weeks).  So what do I do when NO one else is aware of what I am doing or checking in on me?? a measly mile I tell myself.  After talking for a bit with McKenzie who has had the VERY same problem with the VERY same foot and all the same symptoms of it switching around the entire foot and numbness etc... she suggested ASTYM which practically cured her.  I did some self astym (not near as  hard as I need to( yesterday) and with the continued time off and cross training other muscles to pull their weight I ran 8 miles today with minimal pain.  BUT MOSTLY with fear--- no pace increase because any "jarring" of the heel and plantar will set off the penalty to my foot.  Just easy pace.  First mile 9:02.  Last mile 8:11.  AP 8:30 for 8 miles.  Then of course I felt so good I pruned to bushes in front of my house.   Now drinking a Green Smoothie-- blueberries, banana, apple, lettuce, carrots and cucumber.  : D.     Will ice later after my daughters soccer game.  ASTYM coming up.   I am NOT going to run everyday.  Biking and stairstepper Monday.

4 easy mile Rachelle : D.  7:59 AP.  First mile 8:26.  Last mile 7:21.    THEN....6.7 mile mountain bike ride the long way to the rec center (3:43 AP   SUB FOUR Oh YAH!!).  Then 20 minutes on the elliptical because the stair stepper was occupied.  Level 9.  Legs getting quite the work out, no over doing it but kept rpm at 130 - 140.    Forgot to look at mileage-- probably 1.7.  THEN stair stepper available so did level 8 to 12 for 10 minutes.   1.14 miles.  Biked home adding on a nice hill-- 3.3 miles AP 3:53.  Legs tired so took it easier.  The last down hill got me below 4 minute mile pace  again : D.   I love my mountain bike-- it works me.  Why switch to a road bike if it is easier???    I am however going to do the Jordanelle Triathlon August 18th.  I happen to have it off from work and a bunch of friends from my ward and previous ward are doing it.  I haven't swam a mile in three years.  But once a swimmer always a swimmer right???  Plan is to swim a mile Thursday as I work the next two days and my mother is here for her last  day with before she leaves for New Bruinswick, Cananda.  I plan on practicing swimming in open water at the PG reservoir.    I will be quite the novice at this thing as I will probably not have a wet suit unless anyone knows someone I can borrow one from and I will be using my mountain bike :D.   Disadvantage there but it will be fun nonetheless.   I don't have the means for a road bike right now.  Darn that hamster for the nice $915 pay out for my heater in February!!!

4 easy pace miles.  Foot definitely not better.  Just not any worse.  The fascitis has moved to the heel and arch and not so much the center if I keep that area massaged.  It used to be that massaging that area didn't make any difference so this is progress : D.   AP 8:12.  First mile 8:36.  Last mile 7:46.  Worked all day, a busy one at that, on pediatrics.

Dear Foot,

For what it's worth, I am sorry.  Won't you come back to me?   I didn't mean to use and abuse you.  I thought you were okay with it all.  Then just one day you quit on me.  I  really do not love this new foot.  I want YOU back.  9 weeks is a long time to be away.  If I promise to love you all the last running years of my life will you reconsider your abandonment?      Miss you terribly.                  Julie.

PS  Right foot says he is sorry too.  He thinks it is his fault for trying to go out of commission last fall and made you do all the work.  He promises to pull his weight.  He wanted me to pass on that he knows now what you were going through since now he is working overtime.  Just come back!!

Okay so that was what I was thinking on my measly 4 mile run this morning.  AP 7:58.  First mile 8:32.  Last mile 7:15.  Foot didn't hurt the entire first mile.  Then got progressively tighter.  Wondering if I will ever be fast again since my aerobic base is plummeting and I can't push off on my foot in a fast fashion.

Then, 1 mile leisurely bike ride to my kids school.  I put it in a hard gear and moved my legs slowly so I could be patient and wait for my two girls.   7:25 mile, mostly uphill.

Followed by a 14.2 mile bike ride up into Cedar Hills.  Boy some of the climbs were intense.  I started with climbing which was difficult.  I was pooped before I started.  Eventually got my AP down on the gradual downhill from the mouth of AF canyon thru Lone Peak Park etc..  AP  4:14 for 14.2 miles.

Plan was an 8 miler but I was caught up in the HIGH WINDS, followed by the rain that I just did not want to go inside so I ran further-- 11 miles, SWEET :D and ever so very SOAKED!!  Seriously FUN 30-40 mph gusts for sure my first 6 miles then when I thought I would get a nice tail wind it started to pour.  But you know what?? I was happy to be out there. I have been craving a 10 miler so badly.  My foot has a lot of work to do--- nerve pain in the dead center of the bottom of my foot up to my to two of my toes but not like it has if I keep the pace reasonable.   Massaged it with Dr. Scholls massager for 20 minutes afterwards.  It works better than my dr's mini ultrasound that doesn't even feel like it works and my fingers get tired of holding it.    I had a glimpse that I might be back to running again.  I love running outside in May!!!  I am going to contine with cross training however.  I am liking the leg turnover of the biking : D.  AP today for 11 windy miles = 8:08.

4 easy pace miles before work-- 8:25.  Foot and calf ouch post run after Melanie scraped my PF yesterday.  Soleus muscle very angry.  I am wondering if I am missing some mineral or something this muscle pain is way beyond pain I have ever had lingering.   Long busy day at work in the nursery.  Lots of babies born in May.  Wow, 27 mile week.    I guess I will add 3 miles per week over the next 8 weeks to 51 mile weeks.

8 easy pace miles (AP 7:57).  Followed soon afterward with a 40 mile unplanned mountain bike ride at 4:18 pace up Provo Canyon.    My foot is starting to feel better.  Since Melanie scraped it (felt as painful as labor pains) on Friday, Saturday I was questioning what I had done since my leg and calf were so painful the next day.  But Sunday I walked  on it for 12 hour shift, like Saturday but the pain level was way down and honestly I was the most pain free walking on my foot in the last 9 weeks : D.  So running today was good-- not pain free or tightness free but oh so close!!  So happy :D.  When I got back I pruned a few bushes and came inside.  Kim had called to have me join them on my bike while she and Jane ran 23 miles from Wallsburg.  So in five minutes I got ready and was picked up by Kim with my bike.  It was cool at the start at 1020am (about 69 degrees) and I would go up and back several times adding on 17 more miles.    The HEAD wind while going down the canyon from the reservoir was INTENSE-- 30 mph I am sure.  I had to pedal on the downhills which on my mountain bike should not be necessary on steep downhills. THAT's how ferocious the wind was.   I never really got tired.  I had a lot of  fun handing off water to the girls.  Shandee also joined us and she ended up vomiting several times from heat exhaustion and walking from the 16 mile mark to the 19 mile mark.  It was a good thing I was there as Jane and Kim were in no shape  to go back up the canyon to find her.  They were miserable (but still fast) from the heat and wind.   It was in the 90s when we finished.  I of course on my bike felt awesome.  40 miles on the mountain bike (up and back down the canyon several times) at 4:18 AP.  Oh I also climbed up two miles the south fork canyon while I waited at Vivian Park for them.  It was too dangerous to go up and back on the main highway.  Getting to the trail was a real treat from that traffic.   We iced in the Provo River and got back home late afternoon.  Then I headed up to soccer tryouts for 3 hours.  HOTTER THERE then the bike ride.  Oh my!!! done with the heat already.  LEGS FEEL AWESOME!!!    I can see an IRONMAN in my future.

5 miles, recovery in a sense.  Legs felt "weird" after 40 miles of biking yesterday.  It took a couple miles for my muscles to switch over.   No pushing the pace.  AP 8:15.  First mile 9:00, last mile 7:32.

I was looking back on my blog of last year in May-- I ran 17 miles the day before I PRed in the 10k memorial day weekend, followed by another pretty good memorial day 10 k two days later that was quite uphill.  Was I a lunatic or what???  So many luney runs last year.     4 marathons in just under four months-- starting with a 3:09 (long course) at UVM and a bonk at SGM 3:08.  But oh the fun in between!!!  Good (and slightly bad) times :D.

Achy today.   I kind of over did it--- planks and pushups yesterday afternoon and  I awoke to a sore chest, upper arms  and feet (I do them barefoot).   I also have a bright red sunburn on my mid outer back out both sides.  Quite tender.  Made a hot shower not comfortable so it had to be lukewarm.   I missed those spots when applying sunscreen before my 40 mile jaunt with Kim and Jane.    I am so glad I did apply sunscreen.  I would be in a whole heck of a lot more pain today!!    I ran 2.5 miles to AF library then tried to figure out their 5k for the Run Of Remembrance Monday that my entire family is running.  It is a free 5k and 10k (register online) and donations are certainly welcome to help the War Heroes.  Of course I donated because my entire family is running it and it a good cause and a free race just doesn't seem right with a number on.  I ran the 10k last year (after running a 10k two days earlier, my PR).  It had snowed just a few hours before the race but was melted by the time we started.  It was raining on and off too.   I am not racing it.  Just hanging with my kids.  I have done NO SW for 10 weeks!!!!!!!!  I am so out of shape!!!    Oh about today's run.  I ran a slightly of course 5k easy pace. Then another 2.5 miles home.  8:29 (2.5mi.), 8:15 (3.1), 8:11 (2.5 mi.).  It was at least 30 degrees cooler today with a good headwind on the 5k course.  I didn't feel the love today.  Plan is to run 4 miles both Thurs and Fri before work (5am).   Not sure how I will feel for Saturday.

PM:  4 miles easy (8:29AP)  just felt like getting out there after I scraped my foot with my ice scraper for my car and caused a blisters because I didn't use lotion.  I wasn't home yet and we (my husband and I) were out and about in our car.  Totally reqret I didn't wait to get home to get some lotion.  The scraper was in my glove compartment. ... "and the Seriously Stupid Award goes to Julie Crossley".   It was cool and windy out there.  And running 1 hour after eating two quesadillas and rice (homemade by my dear husband) made the run not as enjoyable as I thought it would be.  I felt so great as I put on my shorts.  Probably because my stomach was well nourished.  Wasn't a time to get the notion to run.  I was burping a lot.   My stomach was ready to lose its contents.  I ran now because I wanted to run in daylight and NOT have to go so early in the morning--- taking one day off and will run before work Friday am.

NOTHING.  LONG work day--- 13 hrs 15 minutes not incl. drive time to UV hospital.  Non stop.  No time for lunch-- unless you include 2 minutes downers.   It was ridiculous.

Poor sleep.  Thinking about my stressful day at work yesterday knowing I was awaking to another long day at work but at least it was at AFH.  Busy busy.  NO lunch again.  Ran 1.5 mile warmup  (8:45AP)and ran 10 x 1 min on/off for one minute with a few minutes cooldown.  Set my garmin to do this workout.  I love this mode.  It beeps five times to warn you you are about to start and again when the minute is almost up.  Cool.  I didn't look at my splits the whole time, in fact I don't think you can until the end.  This is MY FIRST SPEEDWORK since my injury on March12th!!!   I am so out of shape.  I wanted to be done after 5 of them.    I was surprised I got faster then slowed again for the end (I purposely did because I was tired already).   Tired from stress and no sleep.  I wonder if I ever will PR in the marathon again??  Paces for ons:  6:23 (oh my!!), 6:21 (how sad), 6:03 (getting better :D),  5:53 (same flattish course so this is a good sign. I am waking myself up out of the grave), 5:59, 5:59, 6:00, 5:57, 6:09, 6:09.    0.73 @ 8:12 pace.   AP for 5.03 miles = 7:47.  Looking forward to running with Rachelle tomorrow.  Foot is getting better and better.  Still felt the tightness/scar tissue but stretching and massage helping.

16 GLORIOUS miles with the best running partner EVER!! Thanks Rachelle!!   We met at the Riverwoods Theatres and ran 8 up (8 ended exactly one mile up South Fork).  AP up 8:11.  AP down 7:21.  Total AP 7:46.     Both of us were complaining of left foot pain.   The 15th  mile I was having a hard time breathing-- (Rachelle I just noticed that's when the caffeine hit me, we weren't going much faster than before, my heartrate was soaring in my shower over 160!!).     Just reminds me not to take them in races.  But it did give me sugar energy :D.     We had perfect running weather.  A light breeze!!! Wow, a shocker in Provo Canyon.

6am  recovery run from Saturday.  Quads sore from first run over 10 miles since Boston (16 miles).    My arms were frozen.  It was in the low 40s.  Brrr.....8: 36 AP for 5 miles.

Got home and got kids ready in 15 minutes for their first 5 k.  NO training mind you except twice a week soccer practices.  They started training in February running three times at the rec center.  They thought it counted.   I told them that was too long ago to count.  Cute.

Amber (9) ran with me.  Troy ran with Courtney (13) and Brooke ran with her best friend Brooke (both 11).   Amber ran 27:31 with me.  Wanting to walk several times (which she did) due to stomach cramps and she still has a lot of congestion from a cold she caught a few weeks ago.  She coughed a lot in the run.  She was such a trooper.  I never saw my other family.  And Kim and Jane starting behind me (didn't even know they were there) passed us in the first 1/2 mile.  Along with Rachelle, just after I said to Amber "we should be seeing Rachelle here soon!". The 10k starts further back to get that .1 in as it is a circle course almost.   The first 1.5 miles are up hill.  A good steep one for someone not trained.  Funny thing is that Amber ran all the way to the top and THEN wanted to stop.  I cheered her on about all the downhill.  Her arms were all over the place and I would give her some gentle advice.  She so badly wanted to stop and every time she did (which was 5 or six times in the last mile) I would say something and take her arm and she would start again. The one thing I realize I can't say is "okay when we get close to the finish we are going to sprint".  She got very upset and stopped right there on the course and yelled at me "no I am not sprinting!!".   I said that a couple times when I realized every time I did she would stop running.  So I just said "okay we are so close to the finish, remember it is just around the corner and you can see the balloons!!".    Seriously on no training and with a cold and never running more than a mile or two in a row back in February she rocked it!!  She also wore indoor soccer shoes for her run.  Her regular shoes had holes all through them.   Her sisters came in at 31:44 (Brooke and her friend and Courtney and Troy came in a minute later).  Troy stopped his watch on purpose at the water station because he had to wait in line for water.  He told me "hey its not the Olympics Julie" when  I joked with him for stopping his watch.  However the cool part is that he said Courtney sprinted the last 1/4 mile very well!!  Troy could have run this in 24 minutes. We were both trying to help our kids.  It was fun!!  Kim and Jane came in first and second in the 10k in 39:40something seconds.   The course this year was accurate (since they started further back and ended further out).  Last year I ran an accurate course by accidentally running off course and running by the AF junior high all the way to Alpine highway.  I had to re-pass all the same runners I had just passed.  It was frustrating but I did run 6.2 miles instead of the way short course they ran last year : D.   Since it is a free race (donations only) it wasn't about the time so much anyway but a good work out.   Finished my run today by running home 3 miles with Kim AP 7:55 or faster.

course tooled run with STOP WATCH.  Felt so nice to run and not see the pace or know the mileage.  Just finished using the course tool to figure the unknown distance-- 10.2.     Pace 8:06.  Not bad considering I guessed 8:20 pace.   I ran through several "Trail Closed" signs up in Cedar hills.   I almost made it out before they started spraying the trail with tar spray.  I hate it when they redo trails when they were fine the way they were.  Do we always have to be doing construction???  My drive to 7 peaks was construction-ville STILL.   Luckily the exit to Center st. is now open.  :D.     Took two of my girls and one friend to 7peaks for 3 hours.  Not good on my tired healing foot walking around barefoot.  I am so in need of a nap.    I am going to run the AF Half again SANS garmin :D.
