holy flaming heel....not to mention sciatica as well throuh the symphisis pubis bone and lower back on right side only. left calf tight and shin  because it is doing all the work. i can only plant my foot down and strategically place itas to not have to push off too much. by the last mile (i ran 5 without stopping, training brain)  it spread to my ankle....burning knife like pain.   flip out.   so looking forward to chiro appt and massage today.  this pain in heel may really just be referred pain to heel from sciatic nerve. when i stand up i get an electric shock like pain through my groin.   and tbat area is super inflamed like someone kicked me there. this has felt this way for five days now and lower back pain has gotten progressively worse.  seriouy i m the only nut out therd who would run with this much pain....but i m a nut who signed up for a grand slam....otherwize i would stop. i dont know yet if i will start ogden or not....if tbis appt helps and a steroid shot i may be able...but then run risk of dnf.   which is btr a dnf or dns?  neither.  both r hard places to be.    8:11 ap.

Hang in there Julie. I am so so sorry you are going through this but I'm not sure it would be smart to run Ogden? It may just set you back further....I understand that you want to complete the slam but could you take some time off to get better and add TOU instead of Ogden?

Yes rachelle i will be wise....gonna see what the dr visit today does for me....then steroid tmr...podiatrist....and if as i m now or any pain with

Running i m out. Now tou is two weeks feom sg....that wont be happening again....that was a big mistake in 2011. It was going to be three weeks away but they movedot back like 2011. Yikes.

Did u find your phone?

From Rachelle on Mon, May 13, 2013 at 09:43:33 from 199.190.170.21

Since we are twins we could do half & half at TOU. :) That seems smarter than running Ogden to me....if you can't walk pain free you shouldn't be running a marathon or you wont even be finishing the slam at all! Your overall health is more important than a marathon.

Phone was stolen....bummer! I am having a string of terrible luck.

Julie- I'm with Rachelle! No race is worth damaging your body permanently (or for a long time). So sorry, this bites!

Ha ha i got into st george! This is the first time i got in on my own in four years.....last year runner series....2011...won an entry....2010...i got in i think...ok so three years...but u know if i hadnt signed up for the slam the lottery would habe turned out diferent....isnt that the law of "overkill"? So now i can relax about ogden if i cant run it. So far adjustment at chiro said i was way out in my hips , an inch difference between legs!!!! But damage done. Sadly. I can barely walk normal and pushing off foot is quite painful. Hmmmm i am back at square one.

From JulieC on Mon, May 13, 2013 at 17:25:20 from 70.208.24.66

Btw also large lump at side of heel. where tendon meets bone...chiro had to get out book....to see that there are FIVE nerves that go through that area and supply the entire foot. Pain. Why of course.
